These are the ground rules for using Query Hand. By creating an account you agree to them.

What Query Hand is

A subscription tool that helps picture-book writers organize their queries, statuses, and agents, editors and magazines all in one place. It provides submission windows and alerts, can match manuscripts with agents and editors, and can be fully customized to make your querying process easier, so you can focus more on your craft.

What it isn't

• We are not a literary agency and we don't submit anything on your behalf.
• Open/closed status comes from reading public pages automatically, about once a week. It can be wrong or out of date. Always check the person's own submission page before you send.
• Match rankings and pitch drafts are suggestions from an AI, not promises. Use your own judgment.

Your account

• One person per account. Keep your email address current — it's how you log in.
• You own everything you put in: notes, queries, manuscripts. We just store it for you.
• Don't use Query Hand to harass anyone in the directory, scrape it, or resell its contents.

Billing

• Base, Standard and Pro are billed monthly or yearly through Stripe, in advance. There is no free trial.
• You can switch plans or cancel any time from Settings → Manage billing. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Prices may change; we'll email you at least 30 days before any change affects you.

The honest limits

We work hard to keep Query Hand accurate and available, but it's provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. You use Query Hand at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own submissions: for checking a person's own page before you send, for what you send, and for whom you send it to. We're not liable for a missed window, a query sent to someone who had closed, a mistaken status or suggestion, an outage, lost data, or any other outcome of your use of Query Hand. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything connected with Query Hand is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months.
